If you are looking into cannabidiol (CBD), you have probably already noticed that its effects are not instantaneous. Depending on the derived product and the method of administration, it takes around twenty minutes in the best case, and sometimes several hours.
However, good news: simple techniques exist to benefit more quickly from the effects of cannabinoids.
CBD oil .
3 tips for an (almost) instant effect of CBD oil
Sublingual CBD oil provides the fastest effects for a healthy method of administration
Tip #1: Choose CBD oil sublingually for an (almost) instant effect
The only way to get immediate effects from CBD is to smoke or inhale one of its derivatives. However, smoking CBD is strongly discouraged because combustion releases many toxins that are harmful to the body. In other words, smoking CBD is more harmful than beneficial. As for inhalation, it involves vaporizing CBD flower crumbs or resin, or vaping a CBD e-liquid. Here too, toxins are released, but in much lower quantities.
In summary, the only options for obtaining immediate effects from CBD correspond to methods of use that are not the best for health. CBD oil therefore becomes the quickest and healthiest way to benefit from its effects. However, an important distinction must be made:
CBD oil through the digestive system: in an infusion, on sugar or even in cooking, CBD oil takes effect when digestion starts. The same goes for edible CBD, which takes at least an hour, if not more, to take effect.
CBD oil sublingually: under the tongue, CBD oil acts in around twenty minutes. The effect is not completely immediate, but almost! This is thanks to the blood vessels located under the tongue, which allow rapid absorption of CBD into the bloodstream. By comparison, paracetamol works in 30 to 60 minutes orally (around 15 minutes in the form of an effervescent tablet).
Tip #2: Use quality ingredients The quality of the ingredients can influence the effectiveness and speed of effects
Higher quality CBD may be purer and potentially more effective. This is also true for the other ingredients present in the derived product, in particular the vegetable oil which serves as a base. Favor the cleanest extraction methods (ideally supercritical CO2) and ingredients from environmentally friendly agriculture (without pesticides and GMOs in particular), such as those favored by Lordofcbd.fr.
Tip #3: Opt for a full/broad spectrum CBD oil At equivalent concentration, a CBD oil has more effect than an isolate
Finally, pay attention to the spectrum of the product if you are looking for immediate effects. The full spectrum contains all the active compounds naturally present in hemp, such as CBD, but also other cannabinoids (CBG, CBC, CBN and THC up to 0.3%), terpenes and flavonoids. Together, they enter into synergy and offer more pronounced effects than an oil formulated with CBD isolate. Broad spectrum is similar to full spectrum, but stripped of certain molecules (usually THC).
To go further on CBD oil and its action time
For an immediate or almost immediate effect, nothing beats sublingual CBD oil
If you don't feel any effects after consuming CBD oil, there are several factors to consider:
It's been less than 20 minutes since you took your sublingual CBD oil. The dosage is insufficient (see our guide to understand how many drops of cannabidiol to take per dose). The CBD oil has been stored incorrectly: improperly closed, exposed to light or heat for example (consult our advice on how to properly store your CBD). CBD oil is too old: bottles of CBD oil generally have a best before date (best before date). Beyond that, there is no health risk from consuming it, but its effects may be reduced. The quality of the derived product is not satisfactory (favor serious resellers like Lordofcbd.fr).
You have changed brands and the new oil is not equivalent (concentration and/or isolate instead of broad/full spectrum, for example). The duration of action of CBD oil can vary depending on several factors such as the method of administration, dose, composition and individual reaction. Sublingually, effects are felt within 15 to 30 minutes after administration and for 2 to 3 hours. If CBD oil is ingested in the form of capsules or food, the action time is approximately one hour, with effects lasting 4 to 6 hours.
For more information on the different derivative products, you can consult our guide on how long the effects of CBD last .
The effects of CBD do not all happen at once. It depends on the type of derivative product and the method of use, but also on the desired effect. So, a person who consumes CBD oil for the first time can feel its effects immediately after administering the first drops. This may allow him to sleep better, relieve certain pain or relax. For other people, it will be necessary to repeat the dose several times before finding the right product and dosage.
However, it is unlikely to permanently reduce stress or stop an acne breakout by using CBD oil just once. Most of the effects linked to topical (localized) application are observed over the long term. This may be the case if you use hemp oil for acne, psoriasis, eczema, or simply to nourish skin and hair.
